The "F" Word?

Oh, how much did I miss school. Is that weird of me to say? I am not sure if it is. I was speaking to a director at my work, and I asked him if he missed college at all. He said that he missed the brain stimulating part of it. I suppose I relate to that because I did not realize how much I missed school until I started classes today! Do you relate with me at all? No? Ha, that is alright. Anyways, let us get to the subject of this week!

Family, fun, and friends are all extremely critical in college. For most people who may be part of a frat house or a fraternity, this is not much news, but I am meaning whole-hearted experiences. However, if you are anything like me, you may struggle with prioritizing anyone on this list. For me, friends were probably at the top of my priority list, and my family was at the very bottom. I think I hated the idea of putting people at the top who would call me out for my crap, haha.

Anyways, as a college student or even a busy individual, it is very hard to understand that social experiences are very important for our mental health, or even a simple break in our studies. For those who live away from home, friends become even more critical for emotional and mental stability.

In an article by Mayo Clinic, they explain that friends are even beneficial to your stress and “boost your happiness.” The article continues to explain some almost obvious benefits to having friends. They help you go through traumas, give it to you straight, and protect you from annoying exes. In reality, I think we all know that importance of friends in our everyday life. However, they are very easy to forget and hard to nurture. I personally am going through an experience where my friend is newly married, and it is going to be difficult because I will not be seeing her everyday, and she is enjoying her husband!

What are some personal trials you are experiencing with friendships right now?
